ABOUT US
A full-service hydraulic engineering operation capable of meeting the needs of Australia’s most heavy-duty customers.
Founded in 1964, Hardchrome Sales began life as a dedicated hard chrome plating business and has gradually expanded over the decades to become a full-service hydraulic engineering operation capable of meeting the needs of Australia’s most heavy-duty customers. In that time, our staff have developed a reputation as some of the most knowledgeable and experienced operators in the hydraulics industry. They bring their invaluable experience to every repair.
In a 50 year evolution, Hardchrome sales has continued to invest in capital assets to handle larger and more complex hydraulic repairs. Adding large capacity lathes, cylindrical grinders, more hydraulic cylinder overhaul benches, state of the art boring and honing machines, automatic ID welders and powerful craneage to handle ever-bigger cylinders.
All the while, adding more and larger chroming tanks to keep up with customer demand – making us the operation with some of the largest tanks within Australia.
Along the way we’ve also kept the focus on quality control and developed an airtight Quality Assurance program together with controls to ensure compliance with Safety and Environmental obligations. For this reason, we are proud of our Australian Standards certification.
We have done all of this in an effort to keep up with demand and ensure Australia’s industrial customers know where to turn when they require high quality hydraulic repairs to their all-important equipment.
On 1 July 2021 Hardchrome Sales was acquired by Questas Group Pty Ltd to enhance the Group’s presence in Western Australia and bring in a west-coast hard chrome plating and machining facility to complement the group’s existing hydraulics and water businesses in Perth.
This association means Hardchrome sales now possesses even more stature and support as part of one of Australia’s largest industrial companies.

Swift Processing of Accounts
Our accounts and administration are run on site, by efficient and friendly staff. With customers such as FMG and Rio Tinto, we enjoy vendor status with many multinational industrial groups. As a result, we have a great deal of experience when it comes to working with the accounts departments and are accustomed to the requirements of the accounts-payable processes of these organisations.
Accounts are efficiently managed through SAP ARIBA ensuring up-to-date record-keeping. Invoices are produced promptly on despatch of goods, and queries from your accounts departments are handled on the day of enquiry where possible to eliminate hold-ups that could affect your busy schedule. Copies of any invoice are available upon request and a statement of account is sent out each month to assist your accounts department to swiftly reconcile payments easily and efficiently.
All of which means you can begin every repair confidently, with the certainty of a trouble free experience and no accounts hassles down the line.
